Objectives and missions

The primary goal of CEI-Bois is to further the interests of the European wood sector and to this end, it aims to influence EU policy-making. It is the main body representing and defending the interests of the European woodworking industries towards the European Union.

CEI-Bois objectives (statutory):

  • To assist and maintain a permanent link between its member trade organisations;
  • To determine, defend and reconcile the interests of the European woodworking industries; in the relationships between the countries represented by the member trade organisations and in particular in the relationships with the European Communities and extra-European countries;
  • To submit and support the resolutions adopted unanimously before the international organisations and also –through the professional organisations which are active members- before the governments of each of the respective countries;
  • To study all the trade, technical, economic, social and taxation problems and, more generally, all questions of interest for the development of the represented industries;
  • To collect and provide the corresponding documentation;
  • To put in hand all means suitable for the development of the use of wood.

CEI-Bois Mission:

  • Assure synergy between its members;
  • Defend the interests of the sector;
  • Submit positions and resolutions;
  • Monitor information to and from members;
  • Realise studies (social, economic, environmental).
